JOHN UTAKA NEAR SIGNING FOR EGYPTIAN SIDE ISMAILY

Former Super Eagles striker John Utaka is
nearly finishing a
move to his old side after turning into a free agent after his spell in Turkey.

Forward John Utaka is set to come back to Ismailly, the Egyptian
side where he made his name around two decades ago.

The 34-year-old former Super Eagle striker has said the arrangement is
practically done after he turned into a
free player toward the end of his contract with Turkish side
Sivasspor.

"Yes it's true, I have been given a pre-contract by Ismaily and we're
concluding
the arrangement. As you probably are aware as a proficient player you
get the opportunity to be
offered a pre-contract first then you can sign the agreement. That
step has been done," Utaka told KingFut.com.

"All that remaining now is my
signature, you can say that it is 99% complete. I'm as of now in
Nigeria yet will fly to France before going to Egypt."

Utaka played for Ismaily in the
2000-01 season where he drove
the side to win the Egyptian Cup
title.

He then had effective spells in Britain and France where he
won the FA Cup and French Ligue 1 titles with Portsmouth and
Montpellier.
